Gheralta is a paradise for lovers of history of ancient Christianity and secrets. Here, in between white and red rocks, were carved hundreds of churches in the V century, many of which are still functional today and are inhabited by monks and hermits. Access to some monasteries of Geralta is restricted and requires a real adventure: ascension on ropes made of animal skins, a small pedestrian crossings, etc. However, as a reward you get a unique heritage of the Ethiopian church, smiles of the monks and contact with the ancient history of early Christianity.
